Making the most of your weekend break by sampling some of the finest cuisine in the South East.
Many of our hotel guests choose their stay here to take the opportunity to eat in The Dining Room here in our hotel. There have been excellent reviews in all the national broadsheets and the restaurant's reputation is constantly growing. But it would be wrong not to take the opportunity to sample some of the delights of other restaurants in the locality. Besides The Dining Room is closed on Sunday evenings and all day Monday and Tuesday.
We recommend the following;
The Sportsman, Seasalter CT5 4BP : 01227 273370 Rated highly in the Good Food Guide, Michelin starred and providing some of the most creative food around. This is the logical link after dining here.
The Goods Shed, Canterbury CT2 8AN : 01227 459153 Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays this restaurant has consistenly delivered great locally sourced food. Set in a farmers' market it uses these ingredients to great effect.
The Carpenters Arms, Eastling Nr Faversham ME13 0AZ : 01795 890234 Recently taken over and already exciting diners the food offering here is contemporary with a hearty feel. Own smoked meats and a robust delivery it suited me well.
The Three Mariners, Oare, Faversham ME13 0QA : 01795 533633 This little pub, a decent walk from here, is trying very hard and delivering a good menu. We've eaten there a couple of times, like the owners and were impressed by the food.
Reads Restaurant, Faversham ME13 8XE : 01795 533344 The restaurant with the most imposing pedigree in the area. Michelin starred, highly rate in the GFG and guaranteed to deliver a wow-factor. Food is excellent. www.reads.com shows you why. But I haven't eaten there yet ~ I cannot afford it.
